May 1st through the end of September the King Salmon fishery on Lake Ontario has been nothing short of stellar for the past few years! We officially start our season off in the Western basin of lake Ontario out of Wilson Harbor. The warm waters concentrate the King Salmon here throughout the month of May into the beginning of June. Beautiful chrome colored King Salmon will tear hundreds of feet of line off our reels. Battles will last for 30 minutes on average, but can go for up to an hour. During this time it is very common for the Coho Salmon and Steelhead to keep you busy in between the King Salmon. We are also fishing the best part of Lake Ontario for a trophy Lake Trout.In July we continue with the King Salmon season and follow their migration from the Western basin to the Eastern basin on Lake Ontario. We will usually hang out off shore chasing these giant schools. Through networking with many accomplished captains along Lake Ontario I can put us on the best and most active schools of King Salmon day in and day out.
